Pr. Georges Nzongola-Ntalaja is the acting Director of AGI.He holds a Ph.D. in political science (University of Wisconsin-Madison). Former Director of the Oslo Governance Centre of the United Nations Development Programme, he’s also Professor Emeritus of African Studies at Howard University in Washington-DC and Professor of African Studies at University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill).

He was born in the former Belgian Congo and has written extensively on politics and nation building in Africa. His major work is The Congo from Leopold to Kabila: A People’s History (2002).
