The Executive Council,

1. TAKES NOTE of the Report of the Chairperson of the Commission on initiatives taken by the Commission in promoting the Strategic Plan of the African Union Commission 2009-2012 in Africa, including the Pillar on the Shared Values of the African Union, particularly with regard to putting in place a pan-African Architecture on Governance as a platform for dialogue between the various stakeholders;

2. RECOMMENDS to the Assembly that the theme of the Ordinary Session of the Assembly in January 2011 be dedicated to the Shared Values of the African Union, including identifying obstacles and measures to be adopted to facilitate continental integration based on such values.
