Africa Governance Institute is conceived as a center for high-level political dialogue and advanced studies and training on Governance in Africa. As such, it will be called upon to:
engage in advocacy for democratic and Developmental Governance in Africa;
develop cutting-edge research and innovative training methods designed to find solutions to the most pressing Governance issues identified in political dialogue sessions;
Disseminate/Diffuse the relevant information on Governance in Africa
Another of AGI’s objectives is to have a mechanism for evaluating the implementation of recommendations from its different meetings in order to play it’s role, i.e. to explore new directions in rebuilding Governance in Africa and to translate them into reality through the practices of involved stakeholders.
In this way, the Institute will have added value according with what is already being done by the existing governance institutes, centers and networks in the continent, which will function as its nodal points.
