The Association of Public Administration and Management (AAPM) was formed in 1971 in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Its head quarters is in, Nairobi, Kenya.

It is a continental professional organization for high level public sector administrators and managers in Africa as well as those who teach, conduct research and offer advisory services in public administration and management.

The Association’s main business is to promote best practice, excellence and professionalism in Public Administration and Management leading to sustainable leadership capacity development in the African Public Services.
