CREA is an African research centre established in Côte d’Ivoire to promote debate, support the needs and disseminate information on the experiences concerning governability maturated in the historical and political context of the African Continent. CREA was founded in 2005 on the initiative of a group of diplomats and intellectuals committed to the analysis and resolution of the political-military crisis that was taking place at that time in Côte d’Ivoire. The Centre’s legal status is that of an international association with scientific purpose, and its headquarters are in Côte d’Ivoire. CREA’s objectives are:to facilitate dialogue and contacts between men of science and political managers on issues of high political and social interest for African countries, and in particular those in Western Africa; to promote debate on the functions of the state in Africa; to contribute to the renewal and development of the African managerial classes; to support public administrations in the implementation of modernisation and development policies.
