Le Professeur Georges Nzongola-Ntalaja est Directeur par intérim de l’IAG. Il est titulaire d’un doctorat en science politique (Université du Wisconsin - Madison). Ancien directeur du Centre d’Oslo sur la Gouvernance, il est aussi Professeur Emérite d’Etudes africaines à l’Université Howard de Washington et Professeur d’Etudes Africaines à l’Université de Caroline du Nord, à Chapel Hill.
Originaire de l’ancien Congo Belge, il a énormément travaillé sur le politique et la constructon de la nation en Afrique. Son ouvrage principal s’intitule The Congo from Leopold to Kabila: A People’s History (2002).
